Casey began his musical life through the schools music service at the age of four, singing and playing the violin. His formal musical education includes studying GCSE and A-Level music, attaining the ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction in both violin and voice and is a graduate of the TrinityLaban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a first class BMus Honours Music Degree in vocal performance.
Casey is always in demand as a guitarist, his ability to read music fluently enables him to work professionally as a session and pit guitarist for shows and bands in Guernsey and the U.K. As a largely self-taught player for nearly fifteen years, he took the opportunity to study electric guitar to diploma level alongside his vocal studies at university. A keen improviser and lead player, he is comfortable playing and teaching a variety of genres from progressive rock, blues or metal to acoustic, folk music and jazz. As a teacher at SOPM, his students gain a highly qualified, knowledgeable and friendly mentor, who focuses on developing his students musical knowledge and ability through practical application.
Having trained primarily as a classical singer, Casey is able to teach both vocal technique and performance practise. He works as a coach to students in both contemporary pop and classical repertoire for people of all ages and abilities with the aim of improving their technical and musical understanding through the music they enjoy singing.
