Throughout the centuries, music has evolved and adapted continuously to styles, fashions, and technologies. While there is an infinite amount of music artists who have contributed to this beautiful art, there are undoubtedly some particular artists from the past who were real game changers. Here are 5 of the most influential musicians of all time:

Elvis Presley
Known as ‘The King of Rock and Roll’, this American musician and actor was best known for his #1 singles including Jailhouse Rock, Love me Tender, Hound Dog, and Heartbreak Hotel. As his nickname implies, Presley was regarded as the leading figure of rock and roll, and is still considered to be one of the most influential musicians in history.

The Beatles
This English band consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, and was soon known as the most influential act of the rock era. The Beatles experimented with several different genres ranging from pop ballads and Indian style music to psychedelia and hard rock, while also often incorporating classical elements in innovative ways. Apart from being best-sellers in the US, they also received numerous awards and were inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

Queen
Another British group that revolutionised the music industry, Queen’s success took flight with the release of their album “A Night at the Opera” in 1975. Consisting of members Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon, Queen became one of the biggest stadium rock bands in the world. Having released over 16 #1 hits and won several awards, Queen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Michael Jackson
It’s not possible to have a list of the most influential musicians without mentioning Michael Jackson. This singer, songwriter, entertainer, choreographer, producer, and humanitarian is rightfully known as the King of Pop, and is the owner of the best-selling album of all time, Thriller (1982), which was awarded 30 times platinum in 2016. MJ is best known for his signature dance moves, his famous clothing, his unique voice, and some of his greatest hits, and is considered to be the best entertainer of all time according to the Guinness Book of Records.

Led Zeppelin
Another English rock band, Led Zeppelin consisted of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham. The band’s sound earned them recognition as one of the founders of heavy metal, and they have achieved significant commercial success with their albums. Led Zeppelin are one of the best-selling artists in the history of audio recording, and they are considered to be one of the most successful, innovative, and influential rock bands in history.
